How We Build

We design and build homes every day for clients who have never built a home before. Our process is organized, easy and satisfying whether this is your first new home or one of many. At Connecticut Valley Homes, we provide you with the blueprints and then all selections are conveniently made in our newly remodeled Design Center. Next, plans are engineered, permits are in place and our construction agreement is approved before your home is built with the precision and dependability of modular construction.

We provide the information you need to decide if building a new home is right for you. Some clients prefer a phone conversation and others would rather visit in person. With locations in East Lyme, Connecticut and Westerly, Rhode Island, we have a convenient location close by. And if you can’t come in, that’s okay. We work with clients from across the country who live elsewhere and want to build here.

Discover and Design

Share with us what you like and which features are important to include. We’ll visit your building site, design your custom plan and draw your blueprints. We issue line item pricing updates throughout the design process to ensure your investment remains on track and within your budget each step of the way.

Select and Secure

Enjoy time in our Design Center with our color specialist and select all finishes and fixtures for your new home. Pick up a mortgage application, start the banking process and secure financing if needed. Engineered blueprints are ordered which are required for the building permit application. Approve all selections and final pricing.

Experience “The Smart Way to Build” and Beyond

While the site is being prepared and the foundation installed, your energy efficient home is built off site in an indoor, controlled environment using innovative modular technology. We deliver and assemble the home on your foundation and typically have it weather tight within 24 hours. Next, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and exterior and interior finish crews coordinate their work to complete your new home. A quality assurance check is done before you move in, plus we schedule a warranty service after one year to ensure you are settling comfortably into your new home. Our 10-year warranty is included in addition to all manufacturer material and mechanical warranties and is designed to safeguard your investment for years to come.

Meet With Your Design Center Expert

Meeting with our welcoming Design Center Expert happens after your new home is designed and your blueprints are drawn. During your visit you will select from the latest in home finishing products in a wide variety of materials, colors, styles and finishes. We include name brands like Kohler WaterSense™ faucets and Cambria solid surface countertops in all of our homes. Products from Marvin Windows and Doors, Thermatru and James Hardie siding and trim are a few examples of options showcased throughout our Design Center making it easy for you to express your style and create a home that reflects your individual taste.
