Connecticut Valley Homes has designed and built over 1400 homes. Over the years we have developed a blueprint system that allows our customers, most who have never built a home before, to get a floor plan that uniquely suits them and their land.

Some of our clients aren't yet sure exactly what they want and others are very clear about what would be perfect for them. In either case, we have found that the single most important factor in helping each customer is to really listen to what they want and need...then use the experience we have gleaned since 1981 to produce a floor plan for them that is the right combination of size, style, features and budget.

Our customers have a lot of questions about floor plans, and what is possible. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

Q: I like many of the floor plans on your website, but none is exactly what I want. Can I make changes?
A: We expect changes because everyone is building for different reasons and has different needs. Our designer, Catherine Taylor, (more about her later) is exceptionally qualified to make any changes you might want. Of course, budget is always a consideration. You will be happy to know there is no additional fee to re-design any plan. The only time there is any extra cost is if additional materials are used.

Q: I have looked at your plans, even though they are attractive, none fits my particular situation. Can you design a home that isn't like anything on your website?
A: Absolutely. Catherine Taylor, mentioned earlier, is the founder of Connecticut Valley Homes and has been designing modular homes for almost 30 years. Her focus is designing a plan for each customer that fits their needs like a glove. Clients routinely say their home is such a pleasure to live in and how grateful they are for Cathy's help.

Q: Can I work with an architect? A: Of course. We are happy to work with your architect. We would suggest a meeting before the design process begins to review the sizes that work best from a factory perspective. This allows as much work as possible to be done in the factory, which is the most cost effective way to build. Another approach is to have Connecticut Valley design your new home and then bring the plans to your architect for design review. Some of our customers have taken this approach when they had specific design concerns like needing historical commission approval.

Q: I designed my own plan and know exactly what I want. Would you be able to use my design?
A: Yes. We can build from the plan you designed, or any plan you own the design rights to.

Q: I don't see any handicap accessible plans on your site. Is that something you do?
A: We have built many such homes over the years. The reason you don't see them on our site is that each home has been totally different based on each customer's needs. In general, we incorporate features to make living easier like wider doors and halls, handicap kitchens and baths, easy to use door hardware, ramps, etc. All you have to do is tell us what your requirements are.

Q: Are you a custom builder?
A: What custom means at Connecticut Valley Homes is we build what the customer wants. At Connecticut Valley Homes, help with any building need is only a question away.
